Retired Bishop, EMC Education Professor Dies at Harrisonburg

Harrisonburg, Va. — Bishop Daniel W. Lehman, 79, a retired professor of education at Eastern Mennonite College, died at his home in Park View on Oct. 13 after a week's illness.

Bishop Lehman was ordained to the ministry in 1945 and held pastorates in the Middle District of the Virginia Conference. He was ordained bishop in 1947. He served on the EMC faculty from 1921 to 1958.

A native of Millersville, Pa., he was a graduate of Millersville State College, received the B.A. degree from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., a master's degree from the University of Virginia, and also did graduate work at George Washington University in Washington, D. C.

Funeral services were conducted Oct. 16 at Weavers Mennonite church.
