WALTER WIEBE

Walter Wiebe died Sept . 6. He was born Mar. 13, 1927 in Chortitza, Ukraine to Peter and Elizabeth Wiebe. He served in the German army, was wounded and taken prisoner. Upon his release he found his family and im- migrated to Winnipeg in 1949. He accepted the Lord at 22 . He married Helene Hilde- brand Aug . 25, 1951 and settled in Black Creek, B.C. He worked as a logger and a sign painter. He served God through his art, lead- ing music, building a Sunday school mission and a Christian bookstore. In 1976 he moved to Victoria and later to Richmond, B.C. where he worked for B.C. Ferries as a sign painter. They were members of Bak - erview MB Church, Abbotsford . They en - joyed time with family at their cabin at Shuswap Lake, B.C. He is mourned by He- lene; daughters Tillie, Calgary; Charlotte Krahn, North Vancouver; sons Alf, Rich - mond, B.C. ; Harold, Surrey, B.C.; 10 grand- children; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; . The funeral was Sept. 13 in Bakerview MB Church.
