Ohio Man Severely Burned in Fatal Power Line Accident

Archbold, Ohio. — Donald E. Rupp, 44, of rural Wauseon was admitted to an intensive care unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann arbor, Mich. after suffering burns to the back, hands and feet in a power line accident Aug. 11 in Indiana.

Rupp was installing an antenna for a citizen band radio at a home on US-27 north of Angola, Ind. when a pipe held by Reita Matteson, 44, touched a power line. She died instantly, and Rupp was burned when he tried to come to her aid.

Mr. Rupp is married and the father of four daughters. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Rupp, Archbold.
