Medical Technologist Dies at Age 44

Hillsboro, Kan. — Funeral services were held at the Ebenfeld M.B. Church near here Aug. 23 for Hubert Loewen, 44, medical technologist who died Aug. 19 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Formerly of the Ebenfeld community, Mr. Loewen was a graduate of Tabor College and served as a medical technologist at Albert Schweitzer Memorial Hospital in Haiti before accepting a position at the University of Minnesota Hospital in 1963. He was a member of the New Hope M.B. Church in Minneapolis, where he served as a deacon.

Surviving are his widow, the former Helen Dietzel, and two daughters, Denise and Karen, of the home; his mother, Mrs. P. L. Loewen of Hillsboro; three sisters, Mrs. John Kroeker of Wichita, Mrs. Ray Schlichting of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Wallace Reimer of Shafter, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Waldo Loewen of Hillsboro.
