PETER FRANK BARGEN

Peter Frank Bargen died Aug. 25. He was born Apr. 1, 1922 to Frank and Elizabeth Bargen. He immigrated to Canada in February 1930. He married Anne Peters June 3, 1945. She died Jan. 25, 1997. He obtained a PhD in Educational Administration from the University of Alberta. He held positions in education and civic administration, including Chief City Commissioner for Edmonton. He was a founding member of Lendrum MB Church, Edmonton. He was involved in leadership in Lendrum, serving as church board chair for many years. He oversaw the building of the fellowship hall and the sanctuary. He believed the church must apply and live Christ's principles in the world and be involved in outreach and communication with the world. He was on the Alberta Christian Education Commission and Faith and Life Commission and on the Canadian MB Conference Board of Higher Education. Predeceased by Anne, he is mourned by sons Richard and Neil; daughter Charlene; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters. The funeral was Aug. 28 in Lendrum MB Church.
