ANNA WIENS DORN

Anna Wiens Dorn died July 16. She was born Jan. 20, 1905 in Landskrone, South Russia to Gerhard and Margaretha Baergen. Her mother died when Anna was 7. She committed her life to the Lord at 12 and was later baptized. The family immigrated to Chinook/Sedalia, Alta. in 1926. She married David Wiens Apr. 15, 1928. They lived in East Coulee, Munson and Gem, Alta. She loved caring for her family and often sang while she worked. They retired to Three Hills, Alta. in 1969. David died in 1971. She married Jacob Dorn in 1977 and moved to Coaldale, Alta. He died in 1996. She moved to Sunny South Lodge and then to Didsbury (Alta.) Long-term Care. She was cheerful and positive, graciously accepting change. She loved music, poetry and art and nature. She encouraged others and enjoyed grandchildren's visits and sharing in their lives. She knit for her family. She read her Bible through many times and was faithful in prayer. Predeceased by husbands David and Jacob, son John in 2004, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters, 6 brothers, 7 siblings in infancy, she is mourned by daughters Anne Doerksen, Gem; Mary Harder, Tumbler Ridge, B.C.; Margaret Siemens, Olds, Alta.; Thelma Dirks, Hepburn, Sask .; Karen Pahl, Three Hills, Alta.; sons George, Kelowna, B.C.; David, Duchess, Alta.; 47 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers. The funeral was July 21 in Bethel Evangelical Mission Church, Three Hills.
