JACOB FRIESEN

Jacob Friesen died Mar. 25. He was born June 7, 1917 to Franz and Katharina Friesen in Ostrogozhsk, Old Colony, Ukraine. The family immigrated to Canada in 1924. He accepted Christ and was baptized. He attended Winkler (Man.) Bible School. He married Anne Penner Sept. 28, 1941 in Winnipeg. They moved to Vancouver in 1948. He worked in the flour milling business, then became a building contractor, forming Sunrise Construction. He was a founding member of Willingdon Church, Burnaby, B.C. He served as elder and in music. They moved Coquitlam where he joined Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship. They travelled during their retirement. They were part of a church building team in San Salvador. He is remembered for his passion for music, devotion to his family and his love of God. He is mourned by Anne; sons Ernie, Richard and Allen; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother. The memorial service was Apr. 1 at Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship.
