TINA JANZ

Tina Janz died June 20. She was born Jan. 12, 1917 in Aliessovo, Orenburg, Russia to Jacob and Katharina Dueck. The family immigrated to Coaldale, Alta. in 1926. She worked on the farm to help the family survive. She accepted Christ at a young age, was baptized and joined Coaldale MB Church. Her faith sustained her through hardships. She attended Coaldale Bible School. She married Jacob Janz in 1942. They farmed in the Coaldale area. In 1955 Jake lost a leg in a farm accident. Tina held the family together during his stressful time. Jake died in 1999. She was compassionate and involved in MCC, raising funds for missions and local needs, such as Meals on Wheels. She loved gardening, particularly with roses. Music and singing as a family were highlights. She prayed for her children. She often told of a hymn or Scripture that comforted her at night. She is mourned by daughters Agnes Moore, St. Albert, Alta., Esther Berg, Coaldale, Marion Quiring, Calgary, Charlotte Quapp, Sherwood Park, Alta; Gwen Allison, Cranbrook, B.C.; sons Arnold, Ft. Saskatchewan, Alta., Rick, High River, Alta.; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 3 sisters.
