• Carl Nickel, 63, of Route 3, Newton, died unexpectedly May 3. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church with Rev. E. J. Miller in charge. Mr. Nickel was a farmer and a lifetime resident of the Grace hill community. He leaves his widow, Grace; one daughter, Mrs. Doyle (Janice) Koehn of Tacoma, Wash; two sons, Allan and Dwight, both of Newton; two brothers, Menno of Newton and Gerhard of rural Newton; and two grandchildren.
