DAYTON, VIRGINIA

April 6, 1972</h3

"Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift" (II Cor. 9:15). These were among the last words of Webster C. Rhodes spoken one day after his 82nd birthday. The same day, March 9, he suffered a stroke and died at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Norma and William Koogler. He was the son of the late Reuben S. and Mary Rhodes. His wife, the former Sarah Mabel Showalter, preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 1969. He had lived most of his life in the Dayton area as a farmer. Among the survivors are seven sons and three daughters. Funeral services and burial were held at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.
