Louise Duerrstein died Mar. 20. She was born July 17, 1928 in Altenau, Ukraine to Jacob and Maria Bargen. They immigrated to Germany. She was apprenticed in a store and finished her education. The family immigrated to Canada in 1947, settling in Winnipeg. She accepted the Lord and lived a life of faith. She married Artur Duerrstein Nov. 8, 1952. They farmed in St. Agathe, Man. They moved to Waterloo, Ont. She loved to cook, sew and quilt, making over 200 quilts for the MCC Relief Sale, and family and friends. She taught Sunday school and served as deacon in Kitchener (Ont.) MB Church. Predeceased by Art Mar. 5, 2000, she is mourned by son Henry; daughters Irma and Betty; 6 grandchildren. The funeral was Mar. 25.
