KATARINA (KATIE) ANN FALK

Katie Falk died May 13 at 84. She was born Dec. 18, 1919, in 1I••(~.j Dolinowka, Russia, to Abram and Helena Dyck. Her father was killed in the revolution before she was born. The family immigrat- ed to Canada in 1924. Her mother remarried . Katie was baptized and joined Mullingar (Sask .) MB Church in 1936. She moved to Yarrow, B.C. in 1938. She married Herman Falk Nov. 7, 1943. They raised their 3 chil- dren and cared for 52 foster children. She was active in Yarrow Alliance Church, and in the Yarrow Seniors Club. She loved singing and playing the organ. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking and painting . She belonged to the Widows Help- ing Others club. She dedicated her life to others and was happy to serve. Her favourite Scripture was John 3:16. Predeceased by Herman in 1981, she is mourned by daugh- ters Shirley Jackson and Irene Jones; son Hen- ry; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. The funeral was in Yarrow.
