SUSIE BANMAN

Susie Banman died Dec. 31. She was born Nov. 20, 1914 to Jakob and Susanna Wiebe in Gruenfeld, Siberia. The family immigrated to Canada in January 1926, settling in Yarrow, B.C. She worked in Vancouver, saving her money for a house and a car. She loved people and animals. She had a passion for music, playing guitar, mandolin and piano, and singing with her sisters. She married Henry Banman Oct. 23, 1940. They lived in Abbotsford and were members of Clearbrook MB Church. She was committed to God, church and family. She picked berries with her children. In 1959 they moved to Lardeau, B.C. She started a Sunday school. She started a business, "Susie's Variety Store" in Kaslo and a recreation centre for youth. She brought many people to God. She supported her children's musical endeavours. They moved to Abbotsford in 1981. She enjoyed company and ran a bed and breakfast. Bible reading in German and English was important. She had a good sense of humour. She is mourned by Henry; daughter Rose of Richmond, B.C.; sons Jake of Kelowna, B.C.; John of Bonnyville, Alta; Addie of Kamloops, B.C.; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; 1 brother. The funeral was Jan. 3 in Clearbrook MB Church.
