PETER B. FAST

Peter B. Fast of Dalmeny, Sask. passed away on April 8. He was born November 6, 1890 to Bernard and Susanna Fast near Bingham Lake, Minn. At age 10 he moved with his family to near Dalmeny. He was saved through the ministry of evangelist H.S. Voth, and was baptized and joined the Ebenezer (Dalmeny) MB Church on July 30, 1905. On November 26, 1911 he married Nettie Nickel of Hepburn, Sask. They farmed near his parents' farm until 1947, when they moved into Dalmeny. Beginning in 1933 he experienced serious illnesses, but always worked hard. In old age he found delight in playing the autoharp and harmonica, and singing the old hymns. He was predeceased by his wife Nettie in 1978, daughter Mary, and son-in-law Lloyd MacDougall. He is survived by six daughters: Linda (Mrs. Abe) Andres, Virgil, Ont., Sue (Mrs. Rudolph) Richter, Melville, Sask., Leona (Mrs. Len) Loewen, Saskatoon, Martha (Mrs. Ray) Labun, Winkler, Man., Anne (Mrs. Harold) Friesen, Concord, Calif., Betty (Mrs. Ed) Schmidt, Saskatoon; sons Peter of Calgary, Edwin of Kitchener, and Arno of Winnipeg; 30 grandchildren, 32 great-grand- children and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral was held on April 10 in the Ebenezer church with Rev. Reuben Dirks officiating.
