— Funeral services were held at the West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge, on Saturday forenoon for Mrs. Elizabeth [sic Elisabeth] M. Bartel, 85, who died March 24 at Mercy Hospital after a long illness. The services were in charge of Rev. Leonard Harder. Mrs. Bartel was the former Elizabeth [sic Elisabeth] M. Bachman of Halstead, and had lived in the Moundridge community most of her life. In 1912 she married Peter J. Bartel, and he preceded her in death. She was the sister of Ernest Bachman of Newton, Adolph and Otto Bachman of Moundridge, and Gerhard Bachman of Hesston. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Helen Moddelmog of Moundridge.
