Moundridge Man dies In Train-Truck Collision at Elyria

Moundridge, Kan. — James W. Zerger, 39, a Moundridge farmer, was killed when the pickup he was driving collided with a Rock Island freight train at a crossing at Elyria on Oct. 11.

Funeral services were held at the Eden Mennonite Church, of which Mr. Zerger was a member, on Oct. 14. Dr. H. A. Fast and Rev. Wendell Rempel officiated.

Survivors include his widow, the former Marjean Waltner, and three children, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Zerger of Moundridge; four brothers and four sisters.

A memorial has been established for Camp Mennoscah, retreat grounds of the Western District of the General Conference Mennonite Church near Murdock.
