JOHN DUECK

John Dueck died Apr. 3. He was born to Henry and Kartharina Dueck Apr. 30, 1925 in Eliza- bettal, Russia . In 1926 the family immigrated to Alberta. They at - tempted to farm here and in Saskatchewan. They moved to Vineland, Ont. in 1933, then to Niagara-on-the-Lake. They attended Vineland MB Church and later Virgil MB Church. He accepted the Lord during services led by John Penner, focussing on the New Jerusalem, between Christmas and New Year's Day. He was baptized in 1944. In July 1947 he married Frieda. He farmed, worked in a paper mill, was a trucker and a factory worker. He be- came a crane operator for Port Weller Dry Docks for 43 years until retirement in 1990. They were involved in church; John served as a deacon, as a trustee and in hosting. During re- tirement they travelled to Europe, to the Caribbean and throughout North America. In 1995 they moved to Tabor Manor, St. Catharines. Predeceased by Frieda in Decem- ber 2002 and 1 brother, he is mourned by sons Phil, Jon and Randy; daughters Judith Dueck-Johnson and Crystal Yoanidis; 7 grand- children; 1 great-grandchild; 6 sisters; 4 broth- ers . The funeral was Apr. 7 in Fairview MB Church, St. Catharines, with Waldo Pauls and Randy Dueck ministering.
