CORNELIUS BARG

ornelius Barg passed away july 14. He was born Sept. 1, 1917 to Kornelius and Elizabeth Barg in Tiege, Molotschna, Ukraine, the youngest of 6 siblings. The family immigrated to Ki tchener Ont. in 1926, later moving to Vineland Ont. He attended high school in Beamsville, Ont. He accepted Jesus as a young m an and was baptized by H.H. Janzen. During World War II, he serv ed as a consc ientious ob- j ec tor in the fo re sts of northern Ontario and B.C. In 195 0 he mo ve d back to Kitchener with his pare nts an d join ed Kit chener MB Chu rch . He t au ght Sunda y school and sang in t he ch o ir. He enjoyed sports and play ed in the Mennonite Soft ba ll Leagu e. In 1961 he ma r- ri ed Inge Kr iese. He worked 17 year s at Sp ac·· Nour and 12 years for P.c. D ic k Electric, After retiring in 1982, he was a sale sp erso n for Bergen Elect r ic fo r 5 y ears. He loved the Lo rd, prayed and re ad God's Word daily. He loved h is family, did kind t hings for them where he co uld and supported h is children where need- ed. In 1999 he contracted Alzh ei mer's. In August 2001 he moved to Sunnyside Home. He is mourned by Inge, children David, Timo- thy, Marion, and Petra Becker; 5 grandchil- dr en; and 1 sister. The funeral was in Kitchen- er MB Church, with Grant Gordon and John Wall ministering.
