• Joseph Clyde Gurley of Whitewater, for many years the grain weight master for the State of Kansas, died Sunday morning at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He was 69. The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Swiss Mennonite Church in Whitewater, of which he was a member, with Rev. Ted Roth officiating. Survivors include his widow; a son Clyde of Wichita; a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Roth of Santa Monica, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
