Peter Dyck of Greendale, B.C., passed away on January 12. He was born June 11, 1895 to Peter and Margareta (Goertzen) Dyck of Lichtfelde, southern Russia. In 1902 their family moved to Samara, and in 1909 his parents died within two months of each other. There they took an active role in the church, serving as deacons for many years. Since 1977 he and his wife had lived in Clearbrook, B.C., in the home of one of their children. He was predeceased by two children in infancy. Surviving and mourning his loss are his wife, Margareta; two daughters, Margaret and husband Jacob Block, Helena and husband Ben Schmidt; three sons, Peter and Agnes, John and Mary and Ernie and Elsie; 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral was held on January 16 at the Greendale Mennonite Brethren Church with Harry Heidebrecht and David Froese ministering.
