MRS. ELMER BRANDT
Stella Enns Brandt, daughter of Jacob J. and Elizabeth Schroeder Enns, was born May 13, 1913 in McPherson County, Kansas. She departed this life Aug. 24, 1967 at the Bethesda Hospital, Goessel, Kan., at the age of 54 years, three months and 11 days.
She was baptized on May 24, 1931 by Rev. P. H. Unruh and received into the fellowship of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. She was married to Elmer Brandt on Oct. 3, 1936. On Sept. 2, 1939, she joined the Tabor Mennonite Church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death. They made their home on a farm in the Goessel community. This union was blessed with one son, Loren, of Goessel; and one daughter, Mrs. Abram (Judith) Schmidt, of Menomonie, Wis.
Stella was a good life's companion and mother, never selfish but always kind, loving and considerate. She was a great lover of children. The church and the sewing circle meant much to her. She looked forward to celebrating the 25th wedding anniversary but due to illness this never became a reality. Her plans for the celebration were all written up and now are among the sacred memories of the life which we spent together.
She loved the Lord dearly and during the last years spent many hours in silent meditation and prayer. She looked forward to meeting her Lord and Saviour. This became a reality Thursday morning, Aug. 24, 1967.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Elmer; her son Loren and his wife; her daughter Judith and her husband; two grandchildren, six sisters and their families, and a host of relatives and friends.
