Birth date: 1925

text of obituary:

. . .

• Four Newton residents were killed in a head-on crash Saturday night on the railroad overpass on US-50 west of Burrton. Dead are Warren Schulz, 20, Earl Paul, 31, Mrs. Lavera Fry, 42, and Mrs. Fry's daughter, Mrs. Theresa Lee, 16. It was reported that the car carrying the four, driven by Schulz, left the highway and struck a guard rail after passing another auto. The impact tore away the left front fender and blew out the left front tire, causing the collision with an oncoming vehicle. Two men in the other car were hospitalized. Three persons were injured in a head-on collision on K-15 three miles south of Goessel on April 17. Geneva P. Thiessen, 17, driver of one car, and Mrs. Curtis J. Unruh of Lehigh, passenger in the car driven by her husband, were both admitted to Bethesda Hospital after the crash. Miss Thiessen's mother, Mrs. Esther O. Thiessen, was treated and released. Both cars were heavily damaged.
