MARY DUERKSEN

Mary Duerksen of Killarney, Man. passed away on September 20. She was born on June 26, 1895 in Turien, Russia to Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Thiessen. She accepted the Lord in her early teens. She married Henry Duerksen on October 19, 1919. They immigrated to Canada in 1926, living first in Fannystelle, and later in Wakopa and Holmfield (all Man.). They retired to Killarney in 1962. She was predeceased by her husband in 1973. She leaves to mourn five sons: John and Susan, Henry and Margaret, George and Jessie, Cornie and Lorraine and Dave and Marion; three daughters: Kay and Peter Reimer, Helen and Henry Wiebe and Mary and Ed Penner. The funeral was held in the Lakeview MB Church, where she had been a member, on September 24 with pastor Ernie Bergen in charge.
