Luella Elanora Schindel of Swift Current, Sask. passed away Feb. 24. She was born Sept. 30, 1919 to Cornelius and Katherine Cornelson at Beaver Flat, Sask. She attended Friesen School, completing grade 9. She worked for various neighbours, then attended Herbert (Sask.) Bible School. She had an avid interest in music and began singing in the church choir at 14. She married Ted Schnidel Apr. 11, 1937 in Turnhill Church. They farmed near Main Centre, Sask. In 1972 they moved to Swift Current and continued farming for several years. In 1983 they built their dream home. In 1996 she moved to a care home. She trusted jesus as her Saviour and showed her love for Him through joyful service to family, church and the community. She worked alongside and loved her husband faithfully. She loved quilting, sewing and needlework, had a vegetable garden and lots of flowers, and cooked and baked. Yet, she was never too busy to read a story, play a game or share cookies and tea with her grandchildren. She was hospitable. She served in the ministries of teaching, musical groups, choirs, the ladies' fellowship and Pioneer Girls. Predeceased by daughter Caroline, son Granville and 4 sisters, she is mourned by Ted; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral was Mar. 1 in Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current, with Cliff janzen ministering.
