KATHERINE JANZEN

Katherine Janzen of Kitchener, Onto passed away Oct. 6. She was born Dec. 11, 1904 to Peter and Katharina Andres in Mariawohl, Russia. She accepted Christ during an evan gelistic campaign in Gnadenfeld led by Jacob A. Dyck and Adolph Reimer. In 1923 she married Henry H. Janzen. They immigrated to Canada in 1925, settling in Kitchener. She never saw her parents or 9 siblings again. She support ed her husband's ministry as pastor, teacher and itinerant prea che r, while caring for their children. They spent some years in Winnipeg and some in Europe with MB Missions/Services, before returning to Kitchener. Henry died in 1975. She spent much time sewing and quilt ing at church for missions and MCC and at horne for her children and grandchildren. Her cheerful disposition and strong faith were an encouragement to a ll who knew her. She is survived by her children Rudolph, Erna and Edward of Kitchener, WaIter of North Dakota, Lena of New Meldco and Elsa and Arth ur of St . Catharines; and many grandchildren and great-gr andchildren . The funeral was Oct. 9 in Kitchener MB Church , with Ron Toews and John Wall ministering.
