CURTIS SAMUEL HANZELL

Curtis Samuel Hazell of Grassy Lake, Alta. passed away Oct. 15 of cancer. He was born Dec. 25, 1923 to John and Clara Hazell in Medicine Hat, Alta. They lived in Burdett, Alta. and Viking, Alta. before settling on a farm near Grassy Lake. In 1945 he married Arliene Walker of Grassy Lake and began farming with his dad and brother. He had a gift for music and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion. In 1976 they moved into Grassy Lake, but continued to help on the farm until last spring. He came to know the Lord two and a half years ago and was baptized in June, 1989, joining Westview Community Church in Grassy Lake. He is survived by his sons Dennis and Doug of Grassy Lake; daughters Cheryl Racz of Grassy Lake and Gloria Coutts of Bow Island, Alta.; 7 grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister. The funeral was Oct. 18 in Westview Community Church, with Cornelius Braun and Larry Hoogeveen ministering.
