JACOB J. PETERS

Jacob J. Peters of Steinbach, Man. passed away on September 18. He was born on May 20, 1909 to Jacob H. and Helena Peters in Sagradowka, southern Russia. His family moved to Canada in 1925, made their home in Gretna, Man.; completed the teachers training course in Winnipeg; taught in Halbstadt, Kronsthal and Blumenort schools (Man.); in junior and senior high schools in Steinbach; was principal of Steinbach High School, and then superintendent of Hanover School Division and after retirement, trustee of the division. In August 1934 he was baptized on confession of faith in Jesus Christ into the Arnaud, Man. MB Church; married Margaret Klassen on August 4, 1949; taught Sunday school and preached at the Steinbach MB Church, and was moderator at time of death; served on Board of Educational Institutions of Manitoba MB churches. He leaves to mourn his wife Margaret; three sons: Herb of Toronto, Vic and wife Debbie of Winnipeg and Wilf at home; and brothers Peter J. Peters of Winnipeg and John J. Peters of Germany.
