CORNELIUS J. ISAAC

Cornelius J. Isaac of Kitchener, Ont. passed away on October 13. He was born October 7, 1922 to John P. and Elise (nee Dyck) Isaak in Orloff, Am Trakt, Russia. In 1927 the family immigrated to Hawarden, Sask.; in 1933 moved to Eigenheim, near Rosthern, Sask.; baptized in the Eigenheim Mennonite Church; graduated from Rosthern Junior College in 1942, and attended Bible school in Rosthern for a half year; alternative service on Great Lakes boats in Ontario, and on farms in Sask., Alta. and Ont.; 18 months in Medical Corps of the Canadian Armed Forces. After the war he studied at Stratford (Ont.) Teachers' College and University of Western Ontario, London; married Ella Dick of New Hamburg, Ont in 1949; taught school 32 years, the last 16 in Kitchener; joined the Kitchener MB Church in 1948; served on provincial and Canadian conference Christian Education committees, and on Board of Directors of Eden Christian College; predeceased by sons John and Robert. He is survived by wife Ella; son Terry; six brothers and one sister: Peter in B.C., Richard, in Virgil, Ont., John, New Dundee, Ont., Herbert, St. Catharines, Ont., Ernest, Dunnville, Ont., Albert, Vineland, Onto and Anna in Leaming ton, Ont. The funeral was held in the Kitchener MB Church, with pastor John Froese, assistant pastor Ted Braun and F.C. Peters officiating.
