MRS. HELENA PENZ

(Mrs.) (Mrs.) Helena Penz (nee Siemens) of Waldheim, Sask. passed away on July 31. She was born in Russia on February 20,1900. She married Henry Penz on November 24 in the Gortchakovo MB Church in Ufa, Russia. They came to Canada via Germany, leaving Hamburg on April 23, 1923. In the Waldheim area Mrs. Penz used her seamstress talents to good advantage in days of poverty. The pulse of her prayer life could be sensed in her public prayers at church meetings. She had a stroke on June 29, 1972 and was transferred from a Saskatoon nursing home to the Ros them (Sask.) nursing home in December of that year. Her husband died in 1964. She is · survived by seven children: Margaret and Arthur MacIntosh of Toronto, Kay and Ed Funk of Clearbrook, B.C., Jim and Roberta of St. Paul, Alta., Lou and Marlene of Toronto, John and Helen of Victoria, Frieda (Mrs. Earl) Harder of Edmonton, Harold and Anne and daughter-in-law Margaret of Waldheim; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held on August 4 at the Waldheim MB Church.
