PETER P. SIEMENS

Peter P. Siemens of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away on June 15. He was born in Russia, and came to Canada in 1925, making his home in Saskatchewan. After fifteen years of farming and operating a flour mill and general store, he moved to Strathmore, Alta. where he entered the automobile trade. He also became involved in community affairs and served as an alderman in Strathmore. In 1951, he moved to the Abbotsford area with his wife Mary and his family. Here he operated Hub Motor Service until his retirement in 1962.

He is survived by his wife Mary; six sons: Peter of Winnipeg, Elwin of Prince George, B.C., Walter of Trail, B.C., Werner of Calgary, Alta., Jake of Abbotsford and Donald of West Vancouver; four daughters: Mrs. Walter (Susie) Dirks of Abbotsford, Mrs. Harry (Welma) Pankratz of Vancouver, Mrs. Douglas (Betty) Nissen of Grande Prairie, and Mrs. Bernie (Louella) Siemens of Abbotsford; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters: (Mrs.) Annie Janzen and (Mrs.) Susie Epp. The funeral service was held in the Clearbrook Mennonite Brethren Church, with John G. Baerg and H. Lenzmann officiating.
