MRS. LEONA SCHMIDT

(Mrs.) Leona Schmidt of Vancouver passed away on June 3. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rempel of Hochfeld, Man., on April 25, 1925. When she was five her parents moved to Manitou, Man. Here she accepted Christ as her Saviour in 1937. She was baptized and accepted into the Manitou Mennonite Brethren Church in 1943. In 1946 she moved with her family to Yarrow, B.C. where she lived until her marriage to John J. Schmidt on June 4, 1950. The Schmidts made their home in Sardis, B.C. joining the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Chilliwack. After a lengthy illness, Leona went home to be with the Lord at the age of 54. In all her suffering she was a real example to those who knew her. She accepted her lot in life as from God's hand. She will be missed by her husband John; two sons, Eldon and Randy; two daughters, Elaine (Mrs. Ron Haan) and Rhonda; five sisters, three brothers and a host of friends.
