(Mrs.) Gertrude Gerbrandt of Freiburg, West Germany, passed away on March 8. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. John J. Kehler of Horndean, Man. on April 4, 1926. In her thirteenth year she made her decision for Christ and was baptized at the age of 16. Early in life she had a desire to serve the Lord with gifts he had given her. Two years later the young couple moved to Germany to work in evangelism under the European Evangelistic Crusade. Through the years, they served in refugee camps, tent evangelism, retreats, English church ser vices and campsite mission work. After a year-long battle with cancer, Gertrude died on March 8, the first birthday of her grand child.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother in infancy, daughter Karin and son Walter. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Elmer of Freiburg, West Germany; her son Dennis and daughter Phyllis, both married and living in Freiburg; daughter Marie Luise; two brothers and seven sisters, all living in Canada; one grandchild; and many relatives and friends. The funeral service was held in the Freiburg Mennonite Church, with Frank Esau officiating.
