AUGUST PAHL

August Pahl of Linden, Alta. passed away May 21. He was born Feb. 17, 1906 in Leipzig, Bessarabia, Russia. He married Emilie Suko, Aug. 27, 1927. They farmed together in Bessarabia and Poland before immigrating to Spondin, Alta., where they fanned until their retirement. In 1974 they retired to Linden. He leaves a legacy of teaching and example about the necessity of honesty and hard work, the importance of family relationships, and the value of a strong faith in God. He is mourned by his wife; children Art of Calgary, Elsie Lange of Kelowna, B.C., William of Coaldale, Alta., Fred of Calgary, Irma Hoivik of Sardis, B.C., Otto of Three Hills, Alta., and Hilda Thomson of Calgary; 1 brother and 1 sister. The funeral was May 24 in Linden MB Church, with Ralph Klassen officiating.
