ANNA LOEWEN

Anna Loewen of Winnipeg passed away June 15. She was born June 14, 1894 to Peter and Katharina Redekopp of Gnadenthal, Baratov, southern Russia. She accepted Christ as a child. She married Jacob Loewen May 11, 1919. They were baptized by and joined the MB Church June 14, 1925. Later that year they immigrated to Canada. In 1928 they bought a pear farm in Holmfield, Man. In 1943 they moved to Elm Creek, Man. They moved to Winnipeg in 1964. A few years later Jacob had his first stroke. She was a faithful companion and helper through his suffering and his stay in Donwood Manor. He passed away Mar. 23, 1986. Predeceased by two daughters in infancy, she is mourned by her children Katie of Winnipeg, Susie Enns and Anne Klassen of St. Catharines, Jacob of Kitchener, Ont., Peter of Cali, Colombia, John of Elm Creek, Man. and Abram of Kenora, Ont.; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister. The funeral was June 19 in North Kildonan MB Church , Winnipeg, with John Epp and William Neufeld ministering.
