ANNE KRAHN

Anne Krahn of Winkler, Man. passed away June 3. She was born Apr. 22, 1928 to Rev. Jacob and Sarah Penner in Winnipeg. The family moved to Port Rowan, Ont. during the early 1930s. At age 11 she accepted Jesus. She loved weekly Bible study, sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. She taught vacation Bible school in rural and northern Ontario. She was baptized and joined Port Rowan MB Church at age 16. She attended Eden Bible School in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. for 3 years. She trained as a Registered Nursing Assistant in Hamilton and served in Hamilton, Kitchener, Waterloo and Simcoe, Ont. hospitals for about 7 years. In fall, 1962 she helped the Krahn family when her sister Lena was ill. She married Peter Krahn May 17,1963 after Lena passed away, taking on a family of 7. Another 3 children were born. They moved to Winkler in 1971 to take on the Winkler Bible Book Shop. She joined Winkler MB Church, where she served faithfully for 20 years, teaching pre-primary and nursery Sunday school. Predeceased by 1 grandchild in 1978, she is mourned by her husband;, children Dorothy of North Bay, Ont., Viola of Yorkton Heights, NY, Arthur of Three Hills, Alta., Esther of Wolfville, N.S., Elvera of Walkerton, Ont., David of Wallenstein, Ont., Daniel of Red Lake, Ont., Paul of Winnipeg, Marianne of Winnipeg and Timothy of Winkler; 18 grandchildren; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. A memorial service was held June 6 in Winkler MB Church, with Wally Klassen and Jake Neufeld ministering. The funeral was June 8 in Port Rowan MB Church, with Jake Neufeld and Arnie Neufeld ministering.
