GEORGE WILLMS

George Willms of Brandon, Man. passed away May 28. He was born Mar. 25, 1906 to Gerhard and Anna Willms in Nikolajevska, Russia. He immigrated to Canada in 1927 and worked as a farm hand near Brandon. He was baptized and joined Griswold (Man.) MB Church in 1929. On Feb. 15, 1931 he married Tina Bergman. They farmed near Wheatland and Alexander, Man. and moved to Forrest, Man. in 1944, joining Justice MB Church. Tina died Dec. 2, 1972. He moved to Brandon a year later. On Mar. 13, 1975 he married Nina Neufeld. Predeceased by his first wife Tina, son Herb Apr. 23, 1969 and 1 great-grandson in 1990, he is mourned by his second wife Nina; sons Don of Winnipeg, Harry of Forrest, George of Winnipeg, Edward of Minnedosa, Man. and Frank of Brandon; daughters Hildy Sinclair of Toronto and Irma Dyck of Winnipeg; stepdaughters Joyce Klassen of Whitehorse, Yukon and Fran Loewen of Edmonton; 12 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren. The funeral was May 31 in Richmond Park MB Church, Brandon, with John Unger and Peter Klassen ministering.
