CORNELIUS PETER WOLFE

Cornelius Peter Wolfe of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away May 22. He was born Nov. 4, 1914 to Peter and Elizabeth Wolfe in Fuerstenland, southern Russia. They lived on a mixed farm. After the Russian Revolution, they immigrated to southern Manitoba and farmed for 8 years. He received little formal education. In the Depression they moved to Yarrow, B.C., where they worked in the hopyards and sawmill. In 1934 he accepted Christ under the ministry of A.H. Unruh. In 1943 he was baptized and joined Yarrow MB Church, where he was a parking attendant. He preferred to serve where he was not noticed. His social life revolved around the young people's group. He married Mary Heinrichs Mar. 16, 1941. They had a small dairy and raspberry farm, and he held various part-time jobs. At age 50 he began working for Guenther Door Factory and phased out farming. He developed hobbies, which he pursued after retirement, making spinning wheels, clocks, windmills and steam engines. This gave him much joy, and he donated many to the MCC auction. He spent his last 4 years in a condominium in Clearbrook and joined Clearbrook MB Church. Cancer was found 2 years ago, but he was able to pursue his activities without pain. He is mourned by his wife; sons John, Walter and Ken; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The funeral was May 25 in Clearbrook MB Church, with Jacob Pauls and J .E. Klassen ministering.
