Gerhard Krahn †

Gerhard Krahn ist am 1. Juli 1981 in Winnipeg gestorben. Er ist am 6. Januar 1903 in Schoeneberg, Ukraine als Sohn von Peter und Anna Krahn geboren.

Im Jahre 1943 flüchtete er nach Deutschland und 1947 wanderte er nach Kanada aus. Zwei Jahre wohnte er in Springstein, Manitoba, dann zog er 1949 nach Winnipeg, wo er sich der MB-Gemeinde zu Nord Kildonan anschloß. In 1963 starb seine Frau Margarete, und zwei Jahre später heiratete er Aganeta Martens. Er hinterläßt seine trauernde Gattin Aganeta; 2 Söhne: Peter und Frau Anita in Winnipeg, Arthur und Frau Lydia in Brandon; eine Schwiegertochter Ester Krahn in Brandon, Manitoba; 2 Töchter: Frieda Krahn in Edmonton, Alberta, und Agnes und ihr Mann Jake Funk in Winnipeg; 15 Enkelkinder und ein Urenkelkind; weiter 2 Schwestern; Anna Niebuhr in Winnipeg, Elisabeth Pauls in Winnipeg; 3 Brüder: Peter Krahn und Frau Tina in Winnipeg, John Krahn und Frau Lena in Abbotsford, B.C., und Cornelius Krahn und Frau Greta in Crystal City, Manitoba und deren Familien und andere Verwandte und Freunde.

Das Begräbnis war am 7. Juli 1981 in der Nord Kildonan MB-Kirche. Die Redner waren der Leiter der Gemeinde, Roland Marsch, und Prediger W. Neufeld.

Gerhard Krahn died on July 1, 1981 in Winnipeg. He was born on January 6, 1903 in Schoeneberg, Ukraine as the son of Peter and Anna Krahn.

In 1943, he fled to Germany, and in 1947, emigrated to Canada. He lived for two years in Springstein, Manitoba, then in 1949, moved to Winnipeg, where he joined the North Kildonan MB Church. In 1963, his wife Margarete died, and two years later, he married Aganeta Martens.

He leaves behind his grieving wife Aganeta; two sons: Peter and wife Anita in Winnipeg, Arthur and wife Lydia in Brandon; a daughter-in-law Ester Krahn in Brandon, Manitoba; two daughters: Frieda Krahn in Edmonton, Alberta, and Agnes and her husband Jake Funk in Winnipeg; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; further two sisters; Anna Niebuhr in Winnipeg, Elisabeth Pauls in Winnipeg; 3 brothers: Peter Krahn and wife Tina in Winnipeg, John Krahn and wife Lena in Abbotsford, B.C., and Cornelius Krahn and wife Greta in Crystal City, Manitoba and their families and other relatives and friends.

The funeral was on July 7, 1981 in the North Kildonan MB Church. The speakers were the leader of the congregation, Roland Marsch, and preacher W. Neufeld.
