WALLY FINCH

Wally Finch of Richmond, B.C. passed away Nov. 11. He was born May 26, 1930 in Vancouver. He was well over 6 feet tall. His deep voice intimidated people, but he was tender and sensitive. He married Chris in 1959. In 1980 h e joined Alcoholics Anonymous. His son was saved through Youth For Christ and began attending church. Chris started going to church with him. Then Wally started attending Richmond Bethel MB Church with them. He accepted Christ and quickly became active in church life. Soon his 2 daughters and their husbands also made commitments and started coming to church. In 1987 the family joined Fraserview MB Church in Richmond. In March, 1989 Wally and Chris became a deacon couple. He also sang in the chancel choir. He suffered a massive heart attack just after giving the opening prayer at a service for the elderly in a local care home. He is mourned by his wife; son Greg of Richmond; daughters Carol Harke and Barbara Wilson of Richmond; and 2 grandchildren. The funeral was Nov. 17 in Fraserview MB Church, with Peter Nikkel and H.K. Harris ministering.
