MARION TURCOTT

Marion Turcott of Chilliwack, B.C. passed away Jan. 25 from cancer. She was born Nov. 21, 1932 in Saint John, N.B. She was an outgoing person who enjoyed life immensely. She was an excellent student, especially enjoying art, reading and writing. Before leaving school after grade 8, she won an essay contest, writing on cancer. After working in Saint John, she moved to Toronto, where she worked for Moore's Business Forms with her sisters and brothers. She cheered for the local town hockey team, on which her brothers Bob and Jack played. She joined the RCAF and was posted to Summerside, P.E.I., where she met and married James Turcott in 1958. They enjoyed camping. After numerous postings in Canada and Germany, they settied in Chilliwack in 1975. She worked for the TD Bank, enjoying her job and friends, until her health failed. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, and liked to please them. She is remembered as a quiet person who trusted God and put other's needs ahead of her own. In her last weeks she grew especially close to the Lord and courageously accepted her illness. She is mourned by her husband, children Vic, Cliff and Susan and 4 grandchildren. The funeral was Jan. 29 in Broadway MB Church, Chilliwack, with Robert Friesen ministering.
