PETER FAST

Peter Fast of Virgil, Onto passed away Dec. 13. He was born Oct. 22, 1907 to Peter and Helen Fast in Slavgorod, Russia. In 1930 he immigrated to Saskatchewan. In 1934 he dedicated his life to the Lord. H e was later baptized and joined the MB Church. He married Helen Dueck in 1937 in Vineland, Ont. They settled in the Niagara Peninsula, where he was a fruit farmer for 20 years and worked for General Motors for 28 years. In church he was an usher and worked on various committees. For 40 years he served as executive of the Virgil Mutual Burial Society. His retirement years were spent travelling, tending his flowers, woodworking, bowling, fishing and helping others where he could. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He is mourned by his wife; sons Ronald, Arthur and Irvin; 3 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral was Dec. 17 in Virgil MB Church, with George Wichert ministering.
