ALEXANDER WILLIAM ESAU

Alexander William Esau of Chilliwack, B.C. passed away Dec. 15. He was born June 12, 1912 to Dietrich and Katherina Esau in Nikolaidorf, southern Russia. In 1926 they immigrated to Canada, settling in Hepburn, Sask., where his father was founding principal of Bethany Bible Institute. Here he met Linda. They married July 27, 1935. They moved to St. Catharines, to Bradner, B.C. in 1945 and to Chilliwack in 1956. He worked as a farmer and carpenter and then at Guenther Doors in Yarrow, B.C. He was a longtime member of Watson Road Gospel Chapel, where he was a respected elder and loving friend. He is mourned by his wife; sons Chuck of Chilliwack and Robert of Wells, B.C.; daughters Judy Ralph of Clearbrook, B.C., Elizabeth Grandbois of Langley, B.C. Carol Peterson of Delta, B.C., Nancy Birnie of Chilliwack and Connie Peters of Swift Current, Sask.; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother. The funeral was Dec. 20 in Henderson's Funeral Home, Chilliwack, with Garrett Lievers and Dave Woodward ministering.
