Helen Schellenberg of Virgil, Ont. passed away Sept. 18. She was born Feb. 5, 1905 in Chortitza, southern Russia. She had a happy childhood, but her parents died when she was 14. One brother died in the Revolution, and the rest of the family fled to Kronstal. Here she accepted Christ in 1922 and joined the MB church. She immigrated to Canada with her siblings in 1923, settling in Saskatchewan. She married Frank Schellenberg Mar. 22, 1927. Three children were born in Aberdeen, Sask. In 1942 they moved to the Niagara area of Ontario. She is remembered as a devoted, caring, peace-loving mother with a gentle and forgiving spirit, for whom the physical and spiritual welfare of her children was a great concern. Predeceased by daughter Hilda in 1974, she is mourned by her husband; children Albert, Irene Enns, Virginia Dueck and Ted; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 1 brother. George Wichert ministered at the funeral.
