MRS. ANNA EDIGER

(Mrs.) Anna Ediger of Winnipeg went to be with the Lord on October 19. She was born on May 17, 1890 in Nordheim, Russia. Her father was Johann Toews. She was baptized at age 13. After completing a nurses training course in the Morija Training Institute in Halbstadt, she was married to Johann Ediger from Prangenau in 1914. The couple emigrated to Canada in 1924, made their home in Saskatchewan for a year, and then moved to Overstone in southern Manitoba. A year later her husband died of a heart attack. Soon after this Mrs. Ediger moved to Gnadenthal, and in 1947 she came to Winnipeg. She spent her last eight years in Donwood Manor.

She had five children, two boys and three girls. The last child died immediately after birth. She leaves two sons, John Ediger of Winnipeg and Walter Ediger of Winkler, Man.; two daughters, Hilda (Mrs. John) Dick of Jordan, Ont. (at present in Zaire), and Anne Ediger of Winnipeg and India; a brother, John Toews of Steinbach, Man.; a sister, Mrs. Kathrina Sakutska of Winnipeg; several brothers and sisters in Russia; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
