JACOB LETKEMAN

Jacob Letkeman of Vancouver passe away to be with the Lord suddenly o August 27 as a result of an accident at h place of work at Weldwood of Canada. H was born to Jacob and Mary Letkeman o January 17, 1920 in Russia. His adolesce years were difficult, as his family encountere many hardships. At the outbreak of the wa in 1939, he was drafted into the armed forc and later spent two and a half years in priso camps. After the war he was reunited wi his family in Austria. His mother, broth Peter and sisters Mary, Helen and Elizabe came to Canada soon after and a year lat Jacob followed them. They took up farmin in the Abbotsford, B.C. area. Here h accepted the Lord as his Saviour and wa baptized and received into the fellowship Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1953 he wa married to Erna Huebert, a union blesse with a daughter, Greta, and sons Jake an Peter. They made their home in Vancouve His homegoing occurred a little more tha three months after he and his wife celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife and children, a well as a son·in-law, Dennis , one brother an three sisters and numerous relatives an friends.
