Susan Dorothy Mandtler

Susan Dorothy Mandtler of Saskatoon passed away July 22. She was born Feb. 13, 1915 to George and Agenetha Rempel in Mennon, Sask. As a child, she recognized her need for a Saviour and accepted Christ. As a teen, she memorized many scripture verses, which helped combat fears and doubts. Is. 43:1 gave peace and assurance. She married Menno Mandtler July 11, 1937. For most of their married life, he was involved in the trucking business. They lived in Dalmeny, Sask. until moving to Saskatoon in 1961. She enjoyed flowers and other beauties of nature, handwork, visiting loved ones, reading the Bible and prayer. She was known for her quiet, gentle spirit and a ready sense of humour. In later years she served the Lord as a "Grandma", looking after the young ones at the MOM's program of Forest Grove Community Church. She is mourned by her husband; children Gerald of Spiritwood, Sask., Les of Saskatoon, Janice Glasspell of Camrose, Alta. and Judy Giroux of Hope, B.C.; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. The funeral was July 25 at Forest Grove Community Church, with Robert Radtke, Rueben Baerg and J.H. Epp ministering.
