HELENA QUIRING

Helena Quiring of Saskatoon passed away Aug. 29. She was born Feb. 4, 1896 to to Rev. Jacob and Helena Lepp in Mountain Lake, MN. In 1901 they immigrated to Dalmeny, Sask. She accepted the Lord in 1914 and was baptized the same year by her father. In 1917 she married John E. Quiring. They farmed near Dalmeny until retiring to Saskatoon in 1958. She was a very sociable person, and her home was always open to family and friends. She enjoyed involvement in the church ladies' sewing circle. In 1975 they moved to an apartment in Central Haven Senior Citizens Home. John had a stroke in 1976 and died in 1977. She had been hit by a car just before and was hospitalized but got a day pass to attend his funeral. She recovered and returned to the apartment. Later she moved to Central Haven Personal Care Home. Predeceased by her husband, 1 infant son, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and 1 sister, she is mourned by her children Rubina Pauls of Glenbush, Sask., Wilmer of Fresno, CA, Walter of Dalmeny, Louise of Fresno, Viola Neufeld of Saskatoon, Sophie Esau of Zaire and Arthur of Laird, Sask.; 29 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters and 4 brothers. The funeral was Sept. 2 in Dalmeny Community Church, with R.M. Baerg ministering
