ANNA HEIER

July 27. She was born July 6, 1902 to Isaac and Anna Harms in Orenburg, Russia. She accepted Jesus, was baptized and joined the MB church in her teen years. She married Frank H. Heier June 11, 1924. In July, 1926 they immigrated to Canada, settling near Steinbach. Difficult years followed, but they renewed their strength through prayer and clinging to God's Word. She loved her church and attended faithfully. She enjoyed handwork and loved to sing hymns and gospel songs. Frank died in 1969. She sold the farm in 1971, retiring to Cedarwood Apts. In 1979 she moved to Resthaven Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband, all her siblings and 1 grandson, she is survived by sons Henry of Steinbach, Frank of Yarrow, B.C., John of St. Catharines, Peter of Alliston, Ont. and Arthur of Steinbach; daughters Anne Penner of Headingley, Man., Frieda Duerksen of Steinbach, Laura Briese of White Rock, B.C. and Erna of Vancouver; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The funeral was July 31 in Steinbach MB Church, with Cornie Rempel ministering.
