DIETRICH JANZEN

Dietrich Janzen of Moose Jaw, Sask., passed away suddenly in the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on July 1.

Born in North Dakota on March 30 1898 he moved with his parents to the Kelstern: Sask., district in 1908. He married Elizabeth Boldt on November 15, 1928, and they farmed in the Kelstern district until 1934, at which time they moved to Coaldale, Alta., for two years before returning to the Kelstern district. Here he continued farming until 1958. In 1958 he moved to Moose Jaw, where he remained until his passing.

He received Christ as his Saviour in 1933, and was baptized at Kelstern in 1958, joining the Elim Mennonite Brethren Church. While in Moose Jaw he first attended the Alliance church where he served as custodian for 15 years, before joining the Regal Heights Mennonite Brethren Church in 1975. He will be remembered for his willingness to give leadership and for his assistance in custodial duties, as well for his implicit faith in God. His hobbies included a great love of music, carpentry and gardening.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Elizabeth; three sons: Lowell, Rudolf and John; four daughters: Genevieve, Pearl, Evelyn and Grace; 14 grandchildren, two great-grand children; one brother, Jake; two sisters, (Mrs.) Annie Bese and Tina Janzen; and many relatives and friends.
