MRS. CORNELIA SIEMENS

(Mrs.) Cornelia Siemens (Mrs.) Cornelia Siemens was born on March 8, 1919, in Franztal, South Russia during a time of unrest and fear due to the civil war which shook the country. This, ogether with the bandit raids on the Mennonite settlements, caused her parents, Jacob K. and Catherine (nee Enns) Janzen to ake the family to Canada in 1925. The family settled in Yarrow, B.C. In Yarrow Cornelia enjoyed her youth and found Chris as her Lord and Saviour. She was baptized and received into the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church in 1933, and attended the Elim Bible School for three years. She was married in 1944 to Peter David Siemens, and hey moved to a farm in Mount Lehamn, B.C. Here they raised three sons and one daughter. They also joined the Clearbrook MB Church, where she remained a faithful member until the end. She passed away on July 1, following a wo-year struggle with cancer . Through her llness she was strengthened by the words of Romans 8:31: "If God is for us, who is against us?" Predeceased by her parents, three brothers and one sister, she is survived by her husband, Peter ; three sons, Frederick Her bert, Robert Peter and Henry William; one daughter, Alice Cornelia; her second mother, Helen P . Janzen; one brother, Henry Janzen and his wife Mary; three sisters, Helen (Mrs Fred) Kroeker , Elizabeth (Mrs. Gerhard) Epp and Catherine (Mrs. John) Issak; a ister-in-law, (Mrs .) Helen Janzen; and many friends and acquaintances.
